It is EPA approved with a DFE Certification (Designed for Environment) making it completely safe for sanitary sewers and it will not clog drains. The surfactant material used in this base formula siphons the grease and holds it in suspension for quick and easy removal. Click here for MSDS Sheet.
In applications where there is no possible access to a drain line a drain bucket or larger drip cup can be used. Both will need to be emptied periodically by the kitchen staff just as the grease drip cup currently is as not to overflow.
Nozzles have been positioned such that the spray patterns adequately coat all surfaces with the detergent spray for complete cleaning. Our misting nozzles create a fog in the exhaust system that also coats the fan for cleaning as it is exhausted. In order to ensure the cleanliness KBS will conduct quarterly performance inspections.
There would be no long term effects using BlueForce. It is important to understand that this formula is Non Corrosive, Non Staining and is completely safe on metals, stainless, steel, etc. The same will hold true for plastics and PVC. The base of the formula is completely safe and will not compromise the integrity or harm any plumbing and pipes.
Depending on the size of the hood and flue system, the nightly detergent usage will vary. Generally speaking, between 1/4 and 3/4 of a gallon will be sprayed every night.
The AutoMistTM system can operate whether the exhaust fan is off or on. A benefit of the fan being on during operation is that the detergent will be drawn through the blades and therefore keeping them clean.
The spray line in the exhaust duct will empty of detergent immediately after spraying. Since there is no fluid in the line, there is nothing to freeze. Also due to the fact that a significant amount of heat exits the building through the exhaust ducts the environment stays warm.
This is highly unlikely since the system is run off of a timer that fires on a known frequency. If the system would operate without the filters in place, the detergent solution would drip onto the surfaces below. Though this would require a bit of cleanup, there would be no risk of contamination as the detergent is nontoxic, noncorrosive, nonstaining, and has a DFE approval from the EPA meaning that it is designed for the environment.
As a part of the installation process KBS will attach a flap to each filter. This will cause overlap when the filters are put in place leaving no room for leakage between the filters.
Installation time will depend on the specific application. Generally speaking 3-4 hours for a typical system. Although closing the kitchen is not required for installation, KBS will need to have complete access to the working areas. A closed kitchen is much preferred.

Essentially there are no certification requirements mandated by state and/or local governments. Certification requirements are born by manufactures to certify their installers or independent installers to meet a manufactures specification. When the term is utilized by the installers of sprinkler systems or special agent systems, it is simply stating that the installer has completed a training or in-house service program to understand the expectations of the manufacture when it comes to installation requirements.
KBS technicians are required to complete an in-house training session to ensure that they understand completely the installation process and inner-workings of the system itself. The training is a one-on-one session over a 2 day period with an actual installer. Students review each component of system operation, maintenance, and installation as well as participate in an actual installation. Upon completion of training graduates are required to complete 10 installations with a crew leader before ever going out on their own.
